With help from Jim, 23 paintings were transported to the Agua Caliente Park Ranch House Gallery and installed last Friday. Despite some challenges with stubborn wire hangers the show came together and the paintings looked quite nice in the gallery in this lovely park. The park is truly an oasis in the desert and has been the inspiration for a number of my water reflection series of paintings.

Having the solo show scheduled got me moving this summer. Instead of my usual workshop offerings, I concentrated on creating a number (11 to be exact) of new paintings for the exhibit, working all day every day for about 3 months. This was quite a treat for me, to have the excuse and reason to devote all of my energy and focus to painting. During the week before the opening as I scrambled to finish the last group of paintings, Jim took over all of the cooking. I didn’t even get distracted by needing to do that.  Thanks, Jim. Actually, he does much of the cooking anyway and is an excellent cook. Lucky, lucky me!

Here are a few photos of the gallery space and images of a few of the new paintings.
