In 2019 I continued working on my “Askew” paintings, a series of architectural details with a skewed perspective enhanced by my interpretations using invented color and pattern. I created 18 new paintings this year ranging in size from 10″x10″ to 72″x72″. This brings the total number of paintings in the series to 69. The work has been in a number of shows this year, including a solo at the Eric Fischl Gallery at Phoenix College. In addition, I credit this series with my successful application for the 2019 Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Individual Artist Grant, which I received last May.
This calendar shows fourteen new paintings in this series as shown in the gallery below.
