I’m excited to be showing my new Askew series of abstract paintings in two shows opening in October 2018:
10″x10″ Invitational at Tohono Chul Park Gallery in Tucson and Reinventing Abstraction at Royse Contemporary Gallery in Scottsdale.
These abstract paintings are inspired by architectural details reduced down to essential shapes from which I emphasize ambiguous perspective, pattern and simultaneous contrast in colors. In this series I explore the relationship between abstraction and representation, creating tensions between the pictorial and actual space. I manipulate the colors until they spark off each other and become luminous. To take a peek at some of the paintings go to the gallery tab above, click and scroll down to the Askew gallery.
